Bistrot La Charrette

A pleasant restaurant with quality cuisine and service to match. A restaurant worth trying at least once.

We didn't know this restaurant; we went there by chance and without a reservation. We were very warmly welcomed and had a very good meal. A pleasant evening.

La Charette is more than just a restaurant: it's an enchanting interlude, a warm haven where you come seeking much more than just a meal. You enter to eat, you leave with a smile, a slightly lighter spirit, and that rare feeling of having been welcomed as a valued guest rather than a passing customer. The dishes, generous and heartfelt, possess that authentic Franche-Comté charm: flavors that tell a story, cuisine that embraces its personality, a terroir that gives itself freely. You can feel the sure hand, the passion, the desire to please. But what makes La Charette truly special, what transforms a good time into a memorable experience, are the waitresses. Bravo!

It's impossible to eat there after 1:30 PM on Saturdays despite numerous empty seats. Clearly, they don't need customers. The reception was icy cold after the audacious request to order lunch at 1:30 PM.

Nothing to say really except I came for a very specific French item Recommended by an other drinking space Brilliant ,it did delivered in true style And in a non invasive manner . Very good fine dining and value for money

I must say I can't echo the positive customer reviews, as the dish, lamb marinated in beer, was simply inedible. The pieces were very tough and sinewy, overcooked, drowned in a sauce that masked the flavor, and served with mashed potatoes that didn't look homemade. I simply pointed this out to the server, and their response, "I'm not an expert on meat, I can't know what it's like," was rather unexpected and inappropriate. Disappointing, then.

Top-notch food and service!

Very good food. Flavorful and well-prepared dishes. Excellent value for money (for example, the €65 menu with foie gras, beef fillet, and dessert includes a glass of sparkling wine, a glass of white wine, and a glass of red wine). Pleasant dining room.

It's imperative that the chef finds another line of work. I'm torn between calling it a rip-off and a complete joke. A restaurant conveniently located next to the Beaux-Arts parking lot, on a Saturday in the city center when there's not a soul around, is already worrying. As a restaurateur myself, and knowing the prices of ingredients, the foie gras medallion, which isn't even a quarter the size of my hand, for €21 is a disgrace, not to mention the dry pâté, clearly homemade, because even the ready-made kind from Metro is better. And what about the calf's head, or rather, the boiled calf's head? Having asked if the calf's head was any good and being told that people come here specifically for it, we were confident about this famous dish. I think "disappointment" is an understatement for the dish that was served. The only thing that went into this dish was the heirloom carrots. You shouldn't offer iconic French dishes if you don't know how to prepare them properly, especially in a bistro. However, I must commend the waitress who was professional and pleasant.

Good restaurant, quick and friendly service. There was a slight issue with the snail croquettes; one was cold, but nothing serious, everything else was perfect! The atmosphere is calm, which makes conversation easy.

The food was excellent, and the waitress was very attentive. However, the welcome we received was appalling because we arrived with a stroller and a sleeping baby. Her remarks were so harsh that we asked if she would prefer we eat elsewhere. She eventually agreed to seat us, but without any apology for her attitude. One thing is certain... Never again, despite the quality of the meal.
