Basilic Instant

Great food, great concept, great host.

I've never met such an unfriendly person who only ever talks about money. We spent a week calling the restaurant several times a day to prepare for the arrival of a young autistic woman (and not even severely autistic, to be honest, just anxious about being in a new place; everyone assumes she's "normal"). He took a few minutes of his time to convince us over the phone that he supposedly had a background as a special education teacher, that his partner did too, that he was knowledgeable, that he would be extremely kind, etc. We were rushed the moment we stepped inside (he actually came to get us outside because we were just looking at the storefront). We weren't allowed to speak or even say hello before we had to sit down immediately, without even a chance to look up and take in the decor. Someone stood in front of their chair, not bothering anyone, and he only managed to say one thing: "You have to sit here or this isn't going to work." He repeated this three times. The fourth time, I pretended not to hear him. I asked for five minutes, and he simply told me that if I wasn't sure I wanted to stay, we should hurry up and leave because he was losing money with us. So, just so you know, I hope you make a lot of money because we will absolutely never be in your establishment again.

A MAGNIFICENT DISCOVERY, especially for someone like me who usually eats meat! The welcome was incredibly warm and friendly, the atmosphere was fantastic! The food was extraordinary! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! THANK YOU to the owner for his kindness and delicious cuisine!

I came for lunch today with my friends, who are regular customers, including someone I'll call Mireille, not Muriel (a nod to the owner 😉). This is my second time here, and it's simply exceptional, divine, unpretentious, authentic, and the welcome and hospitality are incredible. I'm a meat lover, but if I want to eat healthy, this is the place to go. Trust me, as a carnivore who's becoming a flexitarian, there's only one place: Basilic Instant. The quality/price ratio is top-notch and all-you-can-eat. Thank you so much, Fabrice, and your dear wife. I had a wonderful meal. The setting is fantastic! The owner is incredibly kind and attentive to his customers. A wonderful discovery. Excellent vegetarian dishes, local cuisine, lactose-free, gluten-free options. All you can eat!

I've been to Basilic Instant several times now, and I absolutely love going there for lunch. The concept is simple: an all-you-can-eat vegetarian/vegan buffet where everything is homemade. No frills: the food is delicious, and it's regularly replenished with original starters and main courses (desserts and drinks are extra). The server is incredibly attentive, friendly, and very nice! There should be a Basilic Instant in every city, really. See you soon!

What wonderful news! The new world exists; I discovered it on Rue des Granges in the heart of Besançon. Everything is working perfectly and paving a beautiful path to follow in order to reinvent a better world. And what better way to start than with a beautiful plate of food, the fruit of the striking generosity of the welcoming couple. It was a pure joy to chat with them. So, ready for takeoff for a moment of conviviality and an exquisite culinary encounter likely to convert any meat-eating Homo sapiens? Change is now! Here, it's short, good, good, local, and better. And finally, as beautiful as the desserts on offer, the cherry on top is this little nod to the film Basic Instinct, the 1992 thriller starring Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas, and therefore to this Basil, or rather Basil, moment with strong therapeutic value. We stumbled upon this restaurant while strolling through the city. We're so glad we stopped! The chef is incredibly welcoming, and the food is excellent. We were with children, and they loved it too. Everything is homemade and seasonal, and you can taste the difference. The set menus are clear, and the buffet is magnificent, from appetizers to desserts. In short, a beautiful, authentic, generous, and delicious place! We won't be going back again by chance.

A great discovery this lunchtime: in addition to offering a delicious set menu for €17.50 (raw vegetables, soup, selection of hot dishes, all you can eat), the owner's welcome, his smile and his good humor won us over.

A fantastic find! The buffet offers over 18 homemade options: "no microwaves, no frozen food," as the owner proudly proclaims. The all-you-can-eat buffet (without dessert) is €17, and given the quality of the food and ingredients, it's well worth it.

Living up to its reputation, this small, welcoming restaurant offers delicious, high-quality meals at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend it!

Top-notch restaurant! 100% vegetarian and 98% of the dishes are gluten-free. I have celiac disease, and the staff is aware of the condition, cross-contamination, and the risks. You can go there without hesitation! They are lovely, everything is homemade and EXCELLENT. Thank you again!!
